Sevil began her career as a designer, after graduating from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Industrial Product Design. She worked on various product design projects including furniture, tableware, carpet, and rugs for more than eight years until moving to Chicago from Istanbul, the city she was born and raised.

In Chicago, she found herself making jewelry that became a passion for her immediately. She loved the meditative aspect of metalsmithing process as well as its intuitiveness and spontaneity.

Currently at her studio, she is creating with the aim of synthesizing her product design background and traditional jewelry making skills to design and fabricate handcrafted, story telling jewelry pieces rooting from the art of ancient world and enriched with contemporary nuances.
